As wedding venues they do not get more romantic than Ardverikie. Having starred as ‘Glenbogle' in the long running BBC Drama, ‘Monarch of The Glen' for many years. The house has reverted to its former role as a splendid family residence and is a perfect setting to begin life together.

The impressive stone floored entrance hall surrounded by antlers, leads into a large ornately panelled reception hall with Persian rugs over wooden floors.

The spacious drawing room, with marble fireplace, hung with family portraits, has an ornate plaster ceiling, and stunning views across Loch Laggan.

The Library has a door leading to the formal garden, which overlooks the loch. It has excellent views across the loch. It has excellent views across the loch and of King Fergus's island.

The Ceremony

You can choose where your ceremony takes place :–

  • the formal dining room;

  • on the famous Ardverikie Beach, the UK's largest inland beach, with its glorious view down the loch to snow-capped mountains beyond.
  • in the magnificent walled garden with its famous collection of Japanese maples
  • Church of Scotland kirk in the nearby village of Laggan.

We currently do not have as local minister. All enquiries should go through Rev. Helen Cook who is based in Kingussie. You can contact Rev Cook at tel. 01540661311 or email revhcook@btinternet.com. We do not have a licence to hold civil ceremonies at Ardverikie only religious and humanist.

  • Alternatively, a humanist celebrant can perform a non-religious ceremony.

I understand that this is not expensive (approx £50.00) and information on this can be found through a company called Event Insurance Services tel.01425 470360 or I am sure most insurance companies will provide appropriate cover
  • The venue is not available for weddings during the last two weeks in July, the whole of the month of August and the first two weeks in September, and over the Christmas and New Year period.
